Jessie Mooberry
PRESIDENT
Jessie Mooberry was born in Unionville and opened Farmer & Co in 2021 with her husband, Soren. Prior to moving back to Unionville, Jessie lived in San Francisco, Singapore, and Istanbul, working in the humanitarian and commercial autonomous mobility industries. She teaches at Penn in her free time and practices “Chaos Gardening,” not to be mistaken for naturalistic planting.

Susan Elks, AICP
VICE PRESIDENT
A community and land use planner, Susan lives in the village with her husband and two children. Her family ties to Unionville extend back to when her great-grandfather decided Unionville was the place to set up as a blacksmith, a trade the village was missing at the time. Susan is active in various local community service roles, while her planning experience extends from Chester County, throughout Appalachia, and across the United States.

Rob Daniels
CHAIR
Rob and his family moved to the Unionville area from Kansas in 2013. As Assistant Director of Community Services at the Brandywine Conservancy, he oversees the Municipal Assistance Program and authored the Unionville Area Regional Comprehensive Plan, adopted in 2024. Originally from the UK, Rob has lived in the United States since 1997, became a citizen in 2014, and serves on the East Marlborough Environmental Advisory Council and the Regional Trail Commission.

Doug Palic
TREASURER
Growing up in Pocopson Township and as a Unionville High School graduate, Doug developed an appreciation for community, open spaces, and local history from an early age. A CFP® at Willow House Advisors, Doug resides in Unionville with his wife, Laurie, and three daughters. He is honored to help build Friends of Unionville from the ground up.

Jamison MacMain
SECRETARY
Spending most of his life in Chester County, and as an estate attorney, Jamison aims to help preserve the legacy and vibrancy of his community. As a resident of Unionville village, Jamison takes great pride in being a member of the Friends of Unionville.

Jesse Armer
MEMBER
Jesse first fell in love with Unionville while traveling through the area and now proudly calls it home. He restored an 1800s farmhouse and landscape and enjoys welcoming others to the historic village. A member of the Township’s Historical Architectural Review Board (HARB) board, Jesse works in horticulture and loves sharing his passion through garden design. When he’s not working in the dirt, he’s spending time with his wife, Joanna, their five school-aged children, and neighbors.

Jill Benjamin
MEMBER
As newlyweds, Jill and her husband John Hodge moved to an apartment in Unionville in 1977, and in 1979 purchased a circa 1830 duplex on Buffington St., also in the village. Jill holds a Master's Equivalency from the state for graduate work at the Univ. of the Arts, Penn State, and Univ. of Virginia. She taught in the Avon Grove School District until retiring in 2017, having received the District's 2016 Citadel Bank Teacher of the Year award.

Jon Cox
MEMBER
Jon has deep roots in Unionville and cares about the village’s history, environment, and wildlife. He is a photographer and filmmaker, an associate professor at the University of Delaware, a National Geographic Explorer, and a Fulbright Specialist, and he serves on the boards of the Dorobo Fund for Tanzania and the Amazon Center for Environmental Education and Research (ACEER) Foundation. He brings experience in storytelling, conservation, and community building to the Friends of Unionville.

Kelly McConnell Cox
MEMBER
Kelly McConnell Cox grew up in Unionville and graduated from Unionville High School. She is a mom of a Unionville student, a professional artist, and a NASM-certified fitness trainer. Kelly holds a BFA from the University of Delaware and an MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art. She loves laughter, friends, animals, and nature.

Soren Rubin
MEMBER
Soren Rubin married into the Village. He founded Farmer & Co in 2021 and now wears many hats: barista, plumber, snow removal expert, breakfast sandwich designer, and community gatherer. Soren is dad to two little kids and spends much of his free time introducing them to the great outdoors.

Mary Fatimah Weening
MEMBER
Mary-Fatimah’s life in Unionville began when she married lifelong village resident Noah Ginty in 2019. Originally from Philadelphia, she founded The Present Sage Acupuncture in 2010 and has spent the past 16 years providing holistic, relationship-centered care as a licensed and nationally board-certified acupuncturist. She has also demonstrated a strong commitment to community service through leadership and volunteer roles with professional and nonprofit organizations, including Service Organizations of Smith College and Penn North Recovery Center.

Kendall Yarosh
MEMBER
Kendall is a Unionville native and 2008 UHS alumna who has served her community as a sixth-grade teacher at CFPMS since 2013. Holding a doctorate in educational leadership with a focus on athletic administration, she also spends her time coaching local soccer and lacrosse teams. In 2024, she and her husband moved to the historic village and celebrated their marriage at local favorite, Farmer & Co.
